This is a short video we took with our camera the other night of a lightning storm that was happening 30 miles from our house. We were standing in our yard when we took this. It was pretty incredible! We have never seen anything like this before. The sound you hear in the video is wind not thunder. The lightning was like this for at least an hour. Thank goodness it wasn't in Presho!

June
June has been a busy month for us! We started the month with a trip to visit family and friends in Birmingham. It was so nice having the chance to get back south and having this time to catch up with everyone. Once we returned to South Dakota Dennis has been very busy with the farm. Wheat harvest is right around the corner and we are happy with the progress made up until this point.
Another big project this month has been our house. We are happy to report that the dry wall has been put up and it is really coming together nicely. We are still hoping for a September/October complete day. We are getting pretty anxious for this to be complete!
Last week we made a trip to Seattle. We spent most of our visit 30 miles outside of Seattle and enjoyed the beauty of nature and the relaxing atmosphere. The picture I have posted of the waterfall is where our hotel was located (the hotel is the brown building on the left in the picture). It was the perfect place for us to enjoy time away together.
I hope everyone is having a wonderful and fun summer. Another update will follow soon!

Dennis' Pick
As you can see with how far behind we have been with our posts, things are busy here in Presho! Summer has arrived and we couldn't be happier :). I have finished my second year of teaching kindergarten here in Lyman County and am now enjoying a break from the chaos of the day to day happenings of 6 year olds. With Dennis, summer always brings lots of work and progress with the farm. Wheat is growing and things are greening up around here. Our house is coming along very nicely. We now are hoping for completion around September. Each day we go there to see the fun things that have been added. Last week we received stairs to our downstairs. You would have thought we won the lottery with how excited we were!
The pictures added to this post are from a drive in the country this morning checking fields. The field where we took these pictures are in "Dennis' pick" for best wheat yield this summer.... we will keep you posted to let you know if he is right :).
We are looking forward to a trip to Birmingham next week. We haven't been since Thanksgiving and are anxious to catch up with family and friends.
We hope everyone is doing well and is enjoying their summer as much as we are!

Update
Hello family and friends. We apologize for the long time that has passed since our last post. It has been a busy couple of months! Life here in South Dakota continues to go well. Dennis and I have been busy at work and are looking forward to spring arriving. We have seen some pleasant days here recently.... we have also had some COLD days! Again, we are looking forward to spring!
Our house is coming along nicely. This week they are in the process of shingling the roof. The framing on the inside upper level is complete. It has been fun to see the walls go up and having the ability to actually see what the house will be like. The anticipated finish date is late August. So we are hoping to be in by Thanksgiving (haha!).
Bama is getting BIGGER and HEAVIER! She has matured a lot and we love her tons. Scout has adjusted to her being here and has taken her in and trained her well. She has made a great addition to our family.
We miss each of you and hope life is happy your way.
