We Haven't Disappeared!
Well family and friends, it has been a long, long time since the last update on our blog. For that, we apologize. Life has been busy here in South Dakota. My brother Zach informed me plenty of times that although the lightning storm video (our last post in July- how embarassing) is cool, we need to move past this and post something new.
Since July we have been busy with our house project. We are proud to say that it is finally complete and we moved in during December! Since the move we have found ourselves busy with unpacking, cleaning, and organizing. We couldn't be happier with how things have fallen into place and are looking forward to enjoying many years (forever) in our home. We are anxiously awaiting visitors to come stay with us.... please keep any future trips in mind!

Besides the house project we have been busy with work. Dennis' fall harvest came a month late this year due to cold weather. Fortunately in November there was a window of warmer weather to complete the milo and sunflower harvest. Mary is busy with her 19 kindergartners. This school year has flown by and all is well at school.
Bama and Scout are enjoying their new sister that adopted us this fall. A little kitten showed up our house site and chose to never leave. We took her in and she seems to be very comfortable and fits in well with our family. Her name is Milo and she thinks she is a dog- she loves playing and sleeping with Bama and Scout.

In December we were able to escape a blizzard and spent some time in Alabama for Christmas! It was wonderful having the time to spend with our family and friends. Time flew by while we were there and we are anxious to return to Birmingham soon.
Dennis' brother Stephan got married to his girlfriend Shelly on the 30th of December in the Black Hills. We are so happy to have new additions to the Stanley family- Shelly and her two kids Julian (6) and Alexis (8). They live in Presho also.
At this very moment we are going through some nasty winter weather and have been trapped in our house for the last two days. We aren't complaining too much though and are enjoying having the time to relax in our new home. Attached is a video of what we are seeing out our window. We are sure you each wish you were here now!
We promise to do a better job on updating our blog. We miss and love each one of you! Start planning a time to come visit us.
