Another Day, Another Snowfall

As I was gazing out my kitchen window this morning taking in the beauty (with a little disbelief mixed in) of another snowfall, it occurred to me that with ALL the snow that we have had this winter I have not once taken Mae out in it... or taken pictures of her first experience with snow. By the time I bundled her up and got my camera ready there was just enough time to quickly get her outside and take a picture before a meltdown began. I told you in the previous post she was a girl after my own heart with loving dogs... well she also doesn't care much for extreme cold or wind like her momma. She has a long, long road ahead if she keeps this up.Our dogs, on the other hand, couldn't love anything more. They had a blast while Mae and I watched from inside.

Mae and Her Dogs

Mae is a girl after my own heart. She loves dogs.... or I should say, she loves our dogs, Bama and Scout. Dennis and Mae have a special time each day hanging out with the dogs and fortunately they (the dogs) have taken a huge interest in Mae and are so sweet to her- even when she grabs and pulls on their ears (she has a STRONG grip- poor puppies). Friends for life!On another note, Mae is now sitting up on her own! Her Grandmomma would be so proud of her really good posture. On another, another note, I have a prayer request. One of my dear friends, Val, has had such a horrible time these past 6 months. She lost her 16 year old son in a farming accident this past October. In January her husband had a major stroke and is now in a nursing home with a very long recovery ahead. I think about Val every day and can't begin to imagine the pain and sorrow she must be experiencing now. She is a strong woman who continues to hope for the best- yet she can't help but to feel lost and extremely sad. For those of you who are reading this will you send a prayer her way?
It has been another cold week here in South Dakota. Our warm up last week was a complete tease. I must keep in mind Spring is right around the corner (I hope!).

Be Mine

Mae received a valentine from her Grandmomma and Buddy today. She LOVED it so much that she just had to put it in her mouth and taste every bit of it. We had to rip it out of her hands to make sure she didn't ruin the sweet card. I need to devote a whole blog post on all of the things Mae puts in her mouth (everything). It would be entertaining.I have two special Valentines in my life. I thank the good Lord above for these two blessings every single day. Happy Valentine's Day, Dennis and Mae. I love you!I must not forget my original Valentine. My dad always knew how to make this day so special for us growing up. He is the very reason why this is my most favorite holiday. Thank you Dad for being a constant reminder that I am loved. Be mine!

Six Months

Seriously, y'all. I can't stand it.... my baby girl is SIX MONTHS OLD. Next thing I know, she will be 16 years old, wearing make-up and telling me how lame I am for not letting her party with her friends (not going to happen- I know what these small town teenagers are up to and I don't like it). Time goes by way too fast...TOO FAST. It has been a great month though. Mae is really developing such a sweet and cute personality. What lucky parents we are.
p.s. Em- recognize the dress? We love it!
