Birmingham Bound

We arrived in Birmingham this past Thursday and are having a wonderful time with family and friends. Dennis came for several days and is already back in Presho busy at work. We are so glad he was able to come with us in the beginning, HOWEVER, it is definitely tough not having him with us for an entire week. So Den, if you are reading this we miss you and love you tons! Wish you were here. Here is a recap of the fun with have had so far. We enjoyed time at the zoo and swinging at the park. Poor Mae is like her Momma and Daddy. We have had to load her up with tons of sunscreen since we have been here. The girl has fair skin and with this heat and humidity she needs all the help she can get. Bless her heart!
We had a very sweet and very meaningful baby dedication for Mae at Dawson. Thank you to those family and friends who were there to be a part of this special moment.
We have spent a lot of time with our cousins, aunts, uncles, Buddy, Grandmomma, etc. Mae is just loving every minute of the attention she is getting. She especially loves the attention of her cousins Bo, Ellie, Henry, Zachary and Gracie.

I will be sure to post more from our trip. We will be here until the 6th.

Aunt Julie is Here!

We are sooooooo happy because Aunt Julie is here for a visit. Mae just loves, loves, LOVES her Aunt Julie (and so do Bama and Scout-- a lot). We just want to hold on to this time forever! On a side note- A fun event that is often planned at Dick and Arvidene's house is the famous Fajita Party. Anyone who is invited to this finds themselves very lucky to enjoy such a fun meal. Mae attended her first Fajita Party this week and of course, we had to capture the moment.Senorita Mae.

Precious Gift

What a great first Mother's Day this has been. Mae and Den surprised me with beautiful flowers and a gift, Dennis made me breakfast (very impressive), and my mother-in-law prepared a very special meal to celebrate this occasion. What a fabulous day! I am constantly reminded of how much I am loved. The best gift that I have EVER received is the gift of motherhood. I am so blessed that God granted me this magnificent gift. I couldn't ask for a better daughter and I am so honored to be her mom! Happy Mother's Day to all the wonderful moms out there. I am so lucky to have so many extraoridinary examples and teachers to guide me through this process (especially my mom!).

Nine Months

My baby is nine months this week. What a wonderful nine months it has been! This past month Mae has offered an early warning to what to expect ahead in the next several months. The girl is a mover and a shaker... She hasn't quite figured out the crawling yet but you can tell she is thinking about it and longing for the day when she can get up and go. Until then, she will just roll from place to place. I have learned that I can no longer leave her unattended. (Pray for us)
On an even more exciting note- Mae has spoken her first word! Wouldn't you know it, her first words are "mom and momma". My heart melts!
Happy nine months to my sweet baby Mae. I love you and the beautiful dress your Grandma and Grandpa brought back for you from Belgium.
