January....In a Nutshell.

So I have been in a complete blogging slump. My goal is to make at least one post per week (such an improvement compared to how I was doing before Mae arrived, don't you think?). The past two weeks have come and gone and no entry. I haven't felt inspired and find myself unmotivated. That sums up January here in SD. FRIGID weather trapping us inside for days and days with not much to report. I am very thankful that Mae is entertained so easily otherwise we would be going absolutely STIR CRAZY by now. We are counting the days until Birmingham! We will be there soon and experience (fingers crossed- although I don't know what in the world is going on with their crazy cold weather lately?) nicer, warmer days and fun times with family and friends.

For the time I would like to post some cute pictures I took of Mae yesterday. She has finally come around to enjoying more time on her tummy. OH and other great news- she LOVES sweet potatoes and has forgiven me for the carrot incident.
Hope you are staying warm wherever this blog may find you.

Mmmmm... Carrots

Tonight Mae experienced her first taste of vegatables- carrots to be exact. I will let the photos do the talking.>After a gag (or two... or three) I think we literally heard the word "YUCK" come out of her mouth. Uh, oh.

Five Months

Look everyone! I am five months old and couldn't be more excited!
This month my most favorite activity (by far) has been building strong legs and standing. I need my parents for balance- but it won't be long and I will be on my own. Watch out world, here I come!I also have become a big fan of rice cereal. Mom told me we will be experimenting with carrots this upcoming week. As far as that is concerned, I am just excited about my new spoons. They are fun to chew on and come in bright colors.Have I told you how much I just LOVE my dad? He can act a little goofy and weird from time to time but he makes me smile and is my hero.
Mom is emotional because she thinks I am growing up way too fast.... Can't wait to see what is in store this upcoming month.
Love,
Mae

Farewell???

So how far can I push this one? I do not have the HEART to get rid of my Christmas tree this year. It is the most amazing tree ever and has filled our home with so much joy this Christmas season. The thought of dumping it somewhere and leaving it to completely die is so SAD to me. What is up with that? It is not like it is a person or an animal.
So I ask the question again- How far can I push having a tree up in my house before it becomes completely white trash and tacky??
